It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kurt Eli Mayry, co-founder, CFO, and esteemed instructor at the Motion Picture Institute. For over 25 years, Kurt’s unwavering dedication and passion has profoundly influenced countless students and graduates, shaping the very essence of our institution.

To honor Kurt’s remarkable legacy, we invite you to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 14th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will be held at our Troy campus, located at 2040 Crooks Rd., Ste. B, Troy, Michigan 48084.

Recognizing that many of our alumni and friends reside out of state, we will also stream the event live. You can join us virtually through this link.

We encourage all who knew Kurt—whether in person or through his enduring impact on the film community—to attend. Your presence, either physically or virtually, will be a testament to the indelible mark he left on all of us.
